iGaming Solutions Asia cover: Payment gateways in Nepal: what our directory has verified

Five providers have a recorded Nepal link in our directory. Here is what that record verifies, what it does not, and how to check the rest yourself.

Why this guide exists

Merchants and developers searching for a "payment gateway Nepal" often find lists that mix confirmed facts with guesses about fees, settlement times or licences. This guide takes a narrower approach. It only uses information the iGaming Solutions Asia directory has already recorded with a source, and it says clearly where our records stop.

Everything below comes from the directory's market coverage records for Nepal. A coverage record means our research team linked a provider to the Nepal market using the provider's own website or a staff check. It does not mean we have tested the service, signed a contract, or confirmed pricing. Where a fact is not in our records, the provider profile shows "Not publicly disclosed" rather than a guess.

What our Nepal records actually say

Five provider profiles carry a Nepal coverage record, all created on 11 August 2026 from the provider's own website:

1. **connectIPS** - official website connectips.com 2. **eSewa** - official website esewa.com.np 3. **Fonepay** - official website fonepay.com 4. **IME Pay** - official website imepay.com.np 5. **Khalti** - official website khalti.com

Read the wording of that record carefully, because it matters. Each of these five rows was recorded with the note: "Headquarters country as stated on the provider's official website. Wider market coverage is not implied and remains unverified." In plain terms, our directory has confirmed that each provider presents itself as based in Nepal. We have not verified, for each one, which merchant types it accepts, which payment methods it routes, or whether it takes cross-border traffic.

That is a weaker claim than "these five gateways serve Nepali merchants", and we deliberately do not make the stronger claim. If you need the stronger answer, the checklist below shows how to get it.

The two groups you will see

The five names sit in two broad groups, and keeping them apart helps when planning an integration.

**Consumer wallet and payment apps.** eSewa, Khalti and IME Pay are widely known as wallet or payment-app brands in Nepal. If your customers already pay through a phone wallet, the practical question is how each brand offers merchant payments, and whether you connect directly or through an aggregator.

**Switch and transfer infrastructure.** Fonepay is presented as an interbank payment switch, and connectIPS is presented as a transfer system. These tend to sit underneath payment flows rather than acting as a single checkout you plug into, so the integration conversation usually looks different.

This grouping is a reading aid drawn from how each provider describes itself, not a verified capability claim. Open each profile to see which payment methods we have actually recorded with a relationship row.

What our records do not cover

Read this part before shortlisting anyone. For most of these five providers, the directory does not yet hold verified data on:

- transaction pricing or setup charges - settlement timing and payout currency - the documents required for onboarding - which business categories each provider accepts - regulatory status or permissions held

When a field is missing, the profile shows "Not publicly disclosed". That label is deliberate: it tells you the question is still open, not that the answer is negative.

A checklist for your own review

1. **Start from the official website.** Use the website link on our profile, checked against official evidence, rather than a search ad or reseller page. 2. **Ask whether your business category is eligible.** Acceptance rules differ between providers, and this is rarely published. Ask in writing. 3. **Request the merchant agreement.** Read the fee schedule, reserve terms and termination clauses in the actual contract. 4. **Check developer documentation.** Look for a test environment, webhook or callback support, refund handling, and the currencies supported. 5. **Confirm settlement.** Ask how and when funds reach your bank account, and in which currency. 6. **Ask about cross-border traffic.** If your customers sit outside Nepal, ask explicitly whether that is supported and on what terms. 7. **Keep records.** Save the date and source of every answer. 8. **Get local professional advice** on compliance questions. This guide does not replace advice from a qualified local professional.

Compare them side by side

You can open any two to four of these profiles in the directory comparison tool. The comparison shows only verified fields, each with its source date, and marks missing data instead of guessing. It is a fast way to see which questions you still need to ask each provider.

Keeping this guide accurate

Provider details change. If you represent one of these providers, or you hold an official source that corrects or adds to our records, use the correction form on the provider profile. Our team reviews each submission against its source before anything changes, and we will update this guide when the Nepal coverage records change.
