Local payment methods in Pakistan: what merchants should check before choosing a provider
iGaming Solutions Asia Editorial Team · October 25, 2026

A practical checklist for Pakistan merchants evaluating local payment methods options.
Why local methods decide the outcome
In Pakistan, the difference between a completed order and an abandoned one often comes down to whether the checkout offers the way your customers already pay. Card usage is not the default for many buyers; phone-based transfers and cash-assisted flows are. This page explains what our directory has verified about the providers recorded for Pakistan, which method families to ask about, and how to confirm that a method is actually live for you.
What our directory has verified
Six provider profiles carry a Pakistan market coverage record, each created from the provider's own website or a staff check with a date attached: Easypaisa, JazzCash, Keenu, Onelink, PayFast (PK) and Safepay.
That record says one thing: our research team linked the provider to the Pakistan market using an official source. It does not say which methods the provider routes, that a method is enabled for your business category, or that the method is live for new merchants today. Where a payment method is recorded for a provider we store it as a relationship row with a verification state you can read on the profile; where nothing is recorded, the profile says "Not publicly disclosed".
The method families to ask about
When you review a provider, ask which of these families it actually connects to, and on what terms:
- **Phone-based transfers** - the customer approves a payment on their own app rather than entering card details. - **Cards** - local and international debit or credit schemes, and whether the provider supports them for your category and ticket size. - **Bank transfer or internet banking** - used by some buyers for larger amounts, and by others who do not hold a card that works online. - **Stored value or wallet flows** - where a customer pays from a balance rather than from a bank or card. - **Cash-out or agent-assisted flows** - relevant where customers fund purchases without a card.
Ask for the list in writing, and ask which entries are live today rather than planned.
Where the official material sits
The State Bank of Pakistan publishes material on payment systems and mobile financial services at https://www.sbp.org.pk. Read it for yourself rather than relying on a reseller's summary. Our directory does not interpret those rules for your business, and it does not state that any listed provider holds a licence.
What our records do not cover
For these providers the directory does not hold verified data on pricing per method, settlement timing, payout currency, onboarding documents, accepted business categories, or authorisation status. Ask each provider directly and keep the dated reply.
A short verification routine
1. **Open the profile and read the method rows** with their verification state, rather than assuming coverage. 2. **Ask for the live method list** for your category; methods that exist in documentation are not always enabled for new merchants. 3. **Ask about failure paths.** What happens when a customer abandons a transfer mid-flow, and who issues the refund. 4. **Test the full flow** in a sandbox, including a declined and an abandoned payment. 5. **Keep every answer** with its date and source.
Where to look next
The Pakistan country page lists the providers our directory has recorded for that market. Place two or three profiles in the comparison tool to see which methods are verified and which are still missing. If you hold an official document that adds or corrects a method record, submit it through the correction form on the profile and we will check it against the source before the record changes.
