How to Compare iGaming Payment Gateways: A Buyer Checklist
iGaming Solutions Asia Editorial · August 9, 2026
A neutral, step-by-step checklist for shortlisting and comparing payment gateways for iGaming operators in Asia.
Start with your settlement reality
Before comparing feature lists, write down the currencies you collect in, the currency you settle in, and how quickly you need funds. Settlement frequency and rolling reserves usually matter more to cash flow than headline transaction fees.
Build a like-for-like cost model
Ask every shortlisted provider for the same breakdown: per-transaction fee, percentage rate, FX spread, chargeback fee, refund handling, monthly minimums and any onboarding cost. Compare the total cost of a representative month, not the advertised rate.
Test the integration, not the brochure
Request sandbox access and run a real integration spike. Check API documentation quality, webhook reliability, idempotency handling, retries, and how failures are reported. A gateway that is cheap but hard to reconcile costs more over a year.
Verify coverage against your markets
Local payment methods differ sharply across Asia. Confirm which methods a provider actually supports in each of your target markets in writing, and never assume support based on a logo on a marketing page.
Score the operational relationship
Support hours, escalation paths, named account management, incident history and dispute handling should all be part of your scoring matrix alongside price.
Use the directory to shortlist
On iGaming Solutions Asia you can filter payment solution providers by market, payment method and integration type, then compare up to four side by side before you contact anyone.
